Community Service Projects - Giving back to humanity and the earth.
Tikun Olam is a central tenant in Jewish life. When we traveling and explore new cultures, peoples and places we must remember that fixing the world does not just mean in our own backyard. We have the power to make a difference to the entire earth. Whether we are working with the indigenous communities of Costa Rica, the tribal communities of the Amazon or community programs in the US, through helping and interaction we gain a new broad perspective and understanding of cultures outside of our everyday communities and our joint connection we all have to the earth.
Groups may add the Tikun Olam component to any destination. The goal of these projects is to provide opportunities for participants to engage and explore the concept and practice of stewardship. This will be achieved through a combination of activities focused on natural and cultural history and team building. Through eco-stewardship and conservation projects participants will be encouraged to explore their connection to their world and encourage their role as stewards in their community.
